The 167th Choice

I have been asked to judge an illustration competition called ‘Choice’. The competition is organized by Genkosha Publishing and held every two months to announce winners on their bimonthly Illustration Magazine. The Choice is quite popular among emerging artists, and what makes this competition unique is that it is judged by only one creative professional all the way through. The judge could be an illustrator, art director, designer, or sometimes an editor. It varies every time.

So I went to do the 167th Choice last month. There were approx. 1900 pieces from 600 entrants, and I had to choose ten winners and six associate winners. It was very exciting experience.
